The MLL is killing us

Make no mistake - we're all for good people getting paid to play lax, but damn, did the MLL draft hit Marin Lacrosse Club hard. The San Francisco Dragons drafted three of our players - Jimmy Mormile, Jim Moss, and Taylor Simmers.

Then the LA Riptide snatched about half of our team, conscripting Vern Briggs, Matt Ogelsby, Lorne Smith, Jason Buttles, Matt Vallone, Vinnie Dello-Iacono, Sean Donnelly, Matt Bontaites, Joe Rosenbaum and Luke Gilbert.

Of course, we wish all our guys the best in the three weeks of training camp tryouts for the Dragons and Riptide. Nothing would make us prouder than to have everyone make the jump from the best club team on the west coast to the pro level. But if the MLL wants to give a handful of these studs back, we won't complain.

If I was still in Cali I would have been a first rounder. Why wasn't Matt Kelly drafted?
