Subject: Lacrosse in Northern Az.
Nice web site! Thanks for the mention, my kids are impressed! A little note: the team was formed, in 1975, by John Hale, Fritz Loechner, Bob Chapman, Don Lougee, Howie Finkle, Johnny May, Mike Gondolie and myself, R.Lindsey.
We did this because we were asked to sever ourselves from Golden Gate Lacrosse Club. I think it was because we, then their "B" team, kicked their ass in a game and we partied in a much more hardy style than they could ever deal with, "lost lacrosse balls". Matt and Pete can probably explain.
Anyway Bobby M., Gregg S., Rick J.,Mikey Brown, Eric H., J.C., Skank and the "Z" came later but they, along with Billy Moore, the Shep and John "the Big Hammer" Morehouse, created the spirit and winning tradition that Matt, Matt, Pat and Pete have continued to foster.
Anyway my kids, Jason 13,and Ryan 11, have threaten to move back to Ca. if I don't get something started in Flagstaff. They attended a camp here in Flag run by Todd Cavallaro. I tried to do some recuriting for you guys on the camp counselors, some guys from Maryland, Loyola, and North Carolina. Who knows maybe it'll work! But back to lacrosse in N.Az. Any help you guys could give me, equipment new or used, advice or even coming out to give a clinic, would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS
YOUR OLD TEAMMATE RICK LINDSEY
P.S. any of you know how to get hold of any of the guys above?

Rick,
Good to hear your name..and.. thanks for forgetting about me being with you guys in 1975!!.. also Tim Kelly, Ted Lau, Chris Smith etc. ...and after that Gary Hickey and Bob Matheson. I think I could still dig up the team picture we took at Marin Catholic in front of Mount Tam in the green uniforms before we switched to the purple and white the next year...
But, wasn't there a team before the Marin Lacrosse club? Peacock Gap or maybe an LDS team?
Sounds like you've moved from the Bay area.. I live in Virginia now.. have two kids in college.. my son played Lacrosse in high school and now plays club ice hockey at Virginia Tech.. would love to hear from you or any of the guys..
Another old teammate..
Bill Bush

Rick Linsey, I hope all is well and thanks for mentioning Gondo and the gang that started the team, way back when.
Is Matty Field still involved with the team?
KC
PS Bill Bush added a legendary name in Bob Matheson and lets not forget Greg Sutter, who capained the team back in the 90"s.

Many of us in Portland still remember the roll you guys were on at the PNLA in Portland, late 70s, early 80s. I was a fraternity brother of the Rat and Sutter at Cornell, and they graduated '78, so it was likely early '80s when they made it to the final against the mighty Canucks. The Gait boys were still teenagers, and as so many California clubs found out, Kevvy, Billy Backhander, Chris Hall and Company, were always a bit too much. Nobody played, drank beer, or enjoyed life harder than all of us during those old PNLA days when the tournament had so many clubs and the beer companies were sponsors. Cheers to Bobby and Gregg if you happen to read this, and if you're ever back in PDX, look me up. Brent

To Billy Bush I'm sorry Iforgot to mention you , because not only were you a mentor ,you were also a great friend! Idon't think teddy or Gary were with at that time , but T.K. and Chris Smith and Dick Mann were. Gary Hicky Bobby and J.C. and Holtzie and our resident J.D. E.J. and Boo-Boo were later additions. Jeez man I feel like I could go on and on , with the Sutt, Jeffferies aand so many others who added to the great spirit that not only made us a great team to play for but just made a tough team to beat. I seem to be running into U. of A. guys who played with Stuie and Billy H. It,s beginning to feel like I played there. Shout to any all a guys who feel I've forgotten them , I have'nt Including Marty K.C. Big John The Hammer and some many others. Lately I've seen Mason Goodhand,(head coaching at Westminster college in Utah) Brownie assissting the Red Hawks in S.J. So please if any Marin guy new or old is passing thru Flagstaff' give a call 928 526 0564 I would love to hear from you, needless to say you got a place to stay! Your teammate and friend Rick

Rick
Just found the site and good to see some of the "old guard" still active. Here in Denver playing goal still and coaching youth. If you ever get out here for tournaments or travel drop me a note...HARK
