Marin Lacrosse Club

Lucky #13

13th Nor Cal Championship since 1992

A couple highlights of the game:

"That's a lot of theatrics, ref" Taites on being called for a hold on a butt wrapcheck to the throat.

"Time out, time out, TIME OUT!!" - the entire bench when GT picked up a ground ball on the sideline

"I don't want to rat out the new guy, but Hennessey did it" - SD's sellout of Hennessey's breaking the trophy

There was a lot of postgame talk about Marin history and we were talking about the 90's run, so here's for the young guys to see what the 90's - early 2000's era looked like in Marin history.  Eichs & B Smith

Black-Out Autographing Skills

MKelly Here's some fine work by Kells last weekend at Pebble Beach.  I believe I can decipher an "M" in the Print Name sction, but the rest of it is pure black-out

Marin 14, Sacramento 3

In stark contrast to the stirring 105-degree Marin triumph orchestrated with precision by the Fantastic Eleven in Sacramento's hostile climate in 2008, the Sacto game started off in a state of chaos.

Marin committed a season's worth of dropped balls and missed ground balls in a single half. Joe Rosenbaum, who has been known to outperform the Dyson Airmuscle, was reportedly trying to pad his GB numbers by repeatedly picking the ball up and laying it back down on the run, almost like a soccer dribble.

The train got back on the tracks in the second half, the ball managed to stay in our sticks and find its way into the back of the Sacramento net pretty consistently.

Season Opener Recap

Marin 16, Palo Alto 3

FOG Ogs was all about distribution of the rock, making sure everyone got involved. Marin goalie Matt Fallon got slightly more involved than he probably planned on, taking a brisk shot for the team while pursuing a ground ball. Video of the incident is being reviewed by the authorities, so until they release it, we'll show you the next best thing:

The offense was smooooth, with Jamie Coffin and fellow FNG's leading numerous jail breaks. A fine

start to the season.

Top Cheese ... Steaks

Marin Lax started off with a stirring first practice of the year in the Presidio. Then the team headed over to the Haight and gathered in the kitchen of 1809 Page St. to jockey for position to receive one of Pat Brown's amazing cheese steaks. Definitely among the TOP CHEESE steaks most of us have ever had.

As great as this tournament was, the following week was even better. We would like to once again thank Charo for letting us use her house, and to the Suzuki Corporation for the disposable vehicles!
